Scales

Currently the Airport Designs models are available in 1:400 scale and 1:500 scale, as these are the most popular scales for collecting die-cast airliner models. We hope to extend the range to other scales in the future.

At 1:400 scale a Boeing 747 has a wing span of approximately 16cm. At 1:500 scale the span is around 13cm.

The photograph above illustrates the difference between 1:400 and 1:500 scales. They are both the same model (Hangar Type 4 B1012), built at the two scales. The 1:500 model is 80% the size of its counterpart in 1:400.

Most of the Airport Designs models are available in both scales.
